Surrounding myself with 350 feminists at our summer school ⇒
The first day of the UK Feminista Summer School was brilliant.
I was really inspired by Denise from Eaves; to the extent that I decided I want to volunteer with that organisation. (It looks like they’re not looking for anyone at the moment; must remember to keep an eye out).
I didn’t like the focus on going through the government, law and police. I think it’s really important to be really knowledgeable about these things and I’m not at all interested in criticising other people’s tactics, but lobbying the government to be slightly less rubbish to women is not my kind of activism.
I was really inspired (again) to get cracking with an anarchafeminist free school in London. Please get in touch if you’d be interested with getting involved with something like that.
I loved the ladyfest workshop; it was inspiring and fun. I really felt empowered to create my own ladyfests now. BOUNCE!
I found some East London feminists and we talked about creativity ideas.
So, following on from those two points; Crafty Feminists might just come to life…
Incidentally, if you’re a self-defined woman with some connection to Hackney; why not consider joining us: Feminists of Hackney?
Looking forward to the second day!
