Musing on setting up feminism groups that do gendered spaces differently

I was chatting about this idea with some friends, after a queer meeting.

I’d like to start a group that specifically and explicitly excludes people with unchallenged male privilege.

I’m a member of three women-only feminism groups and it’s brilliant to have self-defined women-only spaces.

I’m a member of two mixed gender feminism groups too and they’re important too.

I’d like something in-between. I guess something that’s a bit queerer, a bit more autonomous, a bit more of a safe space. Something where people are more open to being challenged and more likely to challenge themselves. Somewhere people prioritise women’s experiences of oppression and have a really strong commitment to helping us smash patriarchy.
