Seeking eco-feminists to explore and learn more together
I facilitated a workshop on eco-feminism for a group of 20-30 people at the Alternative Vegan Festival - nervewracking!
I felt very supported by my friends and I met some feminists I didn’t know before, so, hurray!
The main defining feature of the workshop seemed to be that we wanted to know more about this subject. I really feel like I barely know anything about it and, as I said in the workshop, I decided to do it because I want to explore and learn more about eco-feminism and no one else had said they would do one. (I do love DIY events - if you want something, you make it happen!)
I closed the workshop by inviting participants to commit to one thing they would do to end patriarchy and save the planet. I chose to join Climate Rush, whose tagline is “well-behaved women seldom make history” - Laurel Thatcher Ulrich.
Climate Rush is a community of people who don’t want to sit back and do nothing, and who won’t let evil triumph. Non-violent, direct action, inspired by the Suffragettes.
So, I’ve just joined the mailing list and written this post; let’s get on with it.
