Feminists UNITE at Bar Woteva, in 18 hours... :)
Feminists UNITE for a night of queer performance at Bar Woteva, a free night out.
Come and join us at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern, Tuesday, 21st September. Which is practically now! We’ll be there by 8pm (doors open at 6pm), for a screening of a film about Woteva.

Last night, I walked away from a conversation as soon as a friend mentioned they were going to tell an anti-feminist joke.
I made the right choice for me - I don’t want or need to hear poison; I get more than enough anti-feminist stuff streamed at me in my daily life as it is.

Chasing after perpetrators of street harrassment
Last night, I saw a male-bodied person harassing a female-bodied person. She told him to “fuck off” and he starting complaining that he “only wanted to talk”, so I started following him in order to tell him to stop. He decided to leave her alone before I got there. Today, I spoke out about male violence against women.
It was particularly difficult because it was about emotional violence directed at me. The perpetrator is someone who has since arrived on the queer anarchist scene, that is, in space that previously was especially safe for me.

Speak out about abuse and enable others to do so...
Walking home at nearly 2 am, I saw a man holding a woman, pinning her arms to her sides and shaking her. I stopped, shocked, and forced myself to make eye contact with him. I thought he might stop the violence when he could see I was watching, but he didn’t.
